Performs or directs all maintenance and specialized repairs or improvements to  building and equipment with main focus on Kitchens, Pools and all life safety requirements.




  • Performs and logs all weekly, monthly and annual testing as required as per NFPA and the latest copy of the State Fire Marshal Fire and Life safety practices.  
  • Repairs, maintains, and operates swimming pool equipment.
  • Repairs and maintains all major equipment for Dining Services.
  • Troubleshoots system operations. Repairs, maintains, and inspects electrical, plumbing, HVAC, lighting, hardware, TV, and safety systems.
  • Submits weekly updates to affected departments outlining unresolved issues.
  • Meets and walks campus annually for the Washington State Fire Marshall
  • Repairs and maintains all maintenance supplies, tools and equipment.
  • Maintains the maintenance shops in an orderly fashion.
  • Performs carpentry repair and small project work.
  • Provides emergency repairs to facilities and equipment as needed.
  • Recommends and implements plant/building improvements for safety reasons.
  • Provides supervision, training, and assistance to Maintenance staff as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor and/or the Director of Facility Services.
  • Inspects the ordering of Maintenance supplies, equipment and tools.




  • Skills and experience in HVAC/mechanical, electrical, plumbing, locksmithing and general building repair.
  • Skills in the operation, repair and maintenance of shop equipment and tools.
  • Knowledge of the chemicals used by Maintenance. Ability to read and understand label instructions.
  • Knowledge of telephone, TV, and computer systems.
  • Skills in computer operation.
  • Ability to train employees.
  • Ability to help organize and schedule staff so jobs are completed in a timely manner.
