  • Overview

    The Vice President of Culinary Services oversees the Dining Services program for all of Pacific Retirement Services and the communities we manage. This includes the continued development and management of corporate Dining Services standards, policies and procedures, budgets, budget control, and reporting systems. This position reports to the COO and assists in achieving our organiztaions strategic objectives. This is a full-time exempt position requiring a minimum average of 40 hours per week to ensure that the needs of our communities are met. Frequent travel may be required. Specific duties/responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

    • Promotes the overall delivery of a dining experience in each facility is of the highest quality menu and staff that is also wihtin the established financial objectives. 
    • Develops and promotes the implementation of comprehensive training programs for Dining Services’ staff to improve resident and guest satisfaction. Development included the standardized Wait Staff Training Manual, Dining Room Employee Dress Code, etc.
    • Continues to refine Dining Services’ performance benchmarks and reporting processes with an emphasis on accurate and standardized reporting.
    • Engages in State Survey preparation programs. Assists and advises in necessary Dining/Dietary audits and other activities, including internal mock/pre-State surveys at affiliated and managed organizations, in conjunction with Chief Healthcare Officer and/or corporate nurse consultants.
    • Develops and maintains monthly reporting and communications programs (i.e., conference calls, electronic message boards, etc.) with all PRS Dining Services Directors. The goal is to promote ongoing collaboration and communication between all Corporate Directors of Dining Services.
    • Interacts with Development, Finance, Operations and Marketing to develop initial Dining program assumptions, dining start-up budgets, pre-opening task lists, and dining FTE analysis as well as employee ramp-up budgets for start-up of new or acquired Communities.

    Qualifications

    • Must be experienced in dining services operations, financial management, regulatory compliance, and program development
    • This position requires significant advanced knowledge of the food service field, including an understanding of the theoretical basis of that field and some general knowledge of related fields, usually the result of a minimum of four (4) years of college and/or in some area of Business or Hospitality, and/or 5 to 10 years of experience in a designated field.
    • Prior experience in the retirement industry in a similar role is highly preferred.
