    Computer literate, call hospital discharge planners and check verification of funds for new referrals. Training will be provided.

     

    Presentable with great communication skills in person and over phone.

     

    Be a liason with families and staff.

     

    Part time 8am to 4:30 pm, includes weekends.

    Responsibilities

    The Health Center Clerk works as part of our Health Center team and provides a variety of different administrative and support functions including but not limited to the following:

    • Ensure that resident and visitors needs are being met in a timely and efficient manner.
    • Assist in the continuity of the exchange of information between departments.
    • Assures timely response to patient care needs through the paging system and a monitoring program that reveals deficiencies in this process.
    • The position also enhances the quality of documentation by nursing staff through a monitoring system that reveals deficiencies and targets corrective measures to be taken.
    • Answers telephones. Directs calls for residents and staff.
    • Maintain monthly weight sheet.
    • Coordinate job-duties and tasks with other department clerks on different shifts.
    • Attends required in-service education programs, staff and unit meetings.
    • Supports Health Center and Administrative policies and procedures.
    • Support Medical Records with mailings, scanning and posting census.
    • Schedule medical and beauty shop appointments and transportation.
    • Monitor call-lights and notify CNAs as needed.

    Qualifications

    • Requires some knowledge of the health care field with a minimum of one (1) year experience in this or a related field.
    • Requires clerical skills, good phone technique, good word processing skills, and excellent communication skills.
    • Demonstrates a strong customer service orientation.
    • Working knowledge of common medical terminology preferred.
    • Able to communicate and work effectively with others and function independently with minimal supervision and support.
