URC currently has an opening for a part-time Ward Clerk. This position is hourly, and can work shifts ranging from 8:00am-2:30pm and/or 2:30pm-9:00pm. Ability to work on weekends is a must. This position is part-time with benefits, and works 5 days a week for 6 hour shifts.
The Ward Clerk position is responsible for ensuring that resident and visitors' needs are being met in a timely and efficient manner, and assisting in the continuity of the exchange of information between departments. The Ward Clerk respondes to patient care needs through the paging system and a monitoring program. This position also provides close monitoring of the Protect Alarm System and enhances the quality of documentation by nursing staff through a monitoring system.
An ideal candidate has a background in customer service, and/or previous experience working in the medical field. Prior First Aid certification and CPR certified preferred. Must possess excellent communication skills and be able to work as part of a team.

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
•Responsible for covering the nurse's station at all times
•Answer telephones and direct calls for residents and staff
•Respond to the call light system and pass on appropriated information to the nursing staff
•Admission and Marketing support
•Answering and direct calls and respond to the Protect alarm system
•Maintenance of patient medical charts (including vital signs and B&B documentation).
•Compilation of the daily census and level of care, and assisting in the Admission Process.
•Assign CNA groups and pagers at the beginning of the shift.
•Maintenance of transportation tracking and script log.
•Uphold patient and employee confidentiality at all times.
•Ensure patient safety at all times.
•Other duties as assigned by Management.
•Knowledge of the health care field with a minimum of one (1) year experience in this or a related field.
•Clerical skills, good phone technique, and excellent communication skills.
•Must have a pleasant and friendly personality and professional demeanor.
•Ability to handle stressful situations with dignity and professionalism.
•Must be available for weekend shifts.
•Job role requires substantive interaction with residents, family members, volunteers, and staff.
