    Responsibilities

    We are currently seeking a licensed Registered Dietitian to join and serve in a leadership role within our Dining Services department. The RD will be highly involved with maintaining dietary staffing levels, including hiring, performance reviews, disciplinary action, scheduling, and dietary in-services and training sessions (with assistance from the Director of Dining Services and Health Services Administrator). This person overseas all aspects of Nutritional Services, including the supervision of Dietary Aides, dietary systems, state-mandated clinical needs, and the daily operations of all health center dining venues. Works with the Executive Chef in menu preparations as required by the State for Health Services.

    Qualifications

    This position requires advanced knowledge within the dietary/nutritional services field, including:

    • Dietary/Nutritional Services experience in a long term care community; a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a leadership role beyond just clinical expertise is strongly preferred
    • Polished leadership and emotional intelligence skills, including the ability to consistently remain focused and disciplined during all situations involving team members, residents, and guests.
    • Ability to lead and provide training and teambuilding for a team of 10-20 employees.
    • Computer skills
    • Ensure that all food preparation areas, storage, and service areas are operated in-accordance with company standards and within state and/or local health code regulations.
    • Must possess an ability to judge aesthetics of foods served, and appreciates the necessary care and use of equipment used in food preparation.
    • Understands the importance of serving diets as prescribed, the legality for serving nutritionally adequate meals, and is able to work within budgeted limitations as specified by the community.
    • Current license to practice as a Registered Dietitian in the state of Texas.  Certified Dietary Manager certification is preferred but not required.
    • Must possess a Texas Food Handlers Card and possess or be prepared to obtain Serv-Safe certification.
