    We are currently seeking a full-time Nurse Manager (LVN or RN) for our Health Services Department to oversee and supervise all programs and services provided in Health Care and Rehabilitation Center.  The Nurse Manager will work with the Health Center Administration in establishing policies and procedures in regard to health services. 

     

    Work Schedule:  Full-time, Days.  Monday-Friday.  Hours may vary according to needs of the community.  May include occasional weekend and holiday shifts as needed.

    Responsibilities

    • Assists in the development of the Health Care and Rehabilitation Center and patient care policies.
    • Assists with the development and implementation of departmental manual (philosophy, objectives, procedures and job descriptions).
    • Works with DNS, MDS Coordinator and Charge Nurses in the areas of patient care planning and nursing actions.
    • Reviews health programs and services by ensuring that they comply with federal and state regulations and guide corrective action when applicable.  Participates in staff evaluations and disciplinary reviews.
    • Assures quality patient care is maintained.
    • Oversee and coordinate Minimum Data Sets (MDS) and Care Plans for Health Center Patients.
    • Works with the Medical Director and/or responsible physician in overall patient care.
    • Assists the DNS in monitoring drug destruction with the assistance of the pharmacist.
    • Assists in implementing safe method of drug destruction in collaboration with the pharmacist. Participates in inter-disciplinary reviews.         
    • Participates on the following committees: Infection Control, Quality Assurance (CQI & QA), Catheter/O2, Transfer, Behavior/Psych and Safety.    Performs MAR and TAR Audits at least monthly and PRN
    • Performs weekly Environmental Audits 
    • Assists with Quarterly Med Pass Audits
    • Assists DNS with the HC Wound Care Program. Reviews documentation of Resident wounds and oversees the upkeep of the treatment cart. 
    • Works with DNS, Resident Care Manager, and Social Services Director in assessment of health, psycho‑social, rehabilitation and environmental needs of patients.
    • Participates in conferences with staff, patients and responsible parties as dictated by State & Federal regulations as well as staff or resident concerns. Assists DNS in identifying and implementing nursing service educational needs. Participates in continuing education classes.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Requires significant advanced knowledge of nursing, usually the result of a minimum of four (4) years of college with a B.S. degree in nursing and/or experience in the field
    • Current license to practice as a Registered Nursing (RN) from an accredited nursing program, college or university is preferred; however, a minimum of an LVN licensure is required
    • Must possess or in a timely fashion obtain a working knowledge of state and federal regulations regarding the operation of a health care facility as well as OSHA regulations.
    • Must possess a valid Texas Licensure and be insurable under the company insurance carrier.
