    Assistant Facility Director

    About the job: This position will assist the facility Director of the day-to-day operations of the Facility Services Department for a state of the art LEED certified high-rise retirement center.  Assist in supervising multi-disciplinary teams of staff including housekeeping, maintenance, renovations and transportation. Provide assistance to the Director as required and to act as Director in their absence. Mentorship and development to grow and move into a Facility Director role.

    Responsibilities

     

    • Assists the Director in departmental budgeting and line item accounts. Assists in developing Capital Budget request and projects.
    • Assists in purchasing, receivables, and inventory as required for the areas of the division under his/her responsibilities; including but not limited to: supplies, chemicals, tools, and equipment.
    • Responsible for the organization, safety programs and maintenance of the facility shop and storage areas.
    • Hires, evaluates and disciplines  facilities staff in conjunction with the Director and Human Resources.
    • Develops schedules and directs training of all staff
    • Hires and supervises various contract services
    • Directs and supervises improvements, repairs and maintenance of the electrical systems, fire prevention systems, and elevators throughout the campus.
    • Directs coordination meetings with residents, interior designers, architects, staff and other consultants to develop innovative and effective ways and means to the renovation / modification processes.

     

    Qualifications

     

    • Assist in overseeing all operations as it relates to the facility service department to include Maintenance, Housekeeping, Renovations and Transportation.
    • Strong Customer Service skills and Staff Team Building Leadership.
    • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems CMMS
    • Supervising skills and experience in General and Specialized building and construction, including but not limited to: repair of HVAC / mechanical, electrical, plumbing, locksmithing, utility systems and working knowledge in the operation, repair, and maintenance of shop equipment and tools.
    • Knowledge of the chemicals and processes used by the department SDS, PPE, Universal Precautions, and General Safety practices used in the construction and building trades.
    • Knowledge of fire prevention, fire suppression, and fire alarm systems.
    • Knowledge of fire life safety emergency response procedures and best practices
    • Basic accounting principal knowledge for budgeting.
    • Ability to supervise, manage and train employees so routine work and special projects are completed in a timely manner
    •  Formal training and/or 5 year’s experience in related position
