    The Meadows of Napa Valley is a CCRC with a Skilled Unit comprised of 64 beds, 20 of which are Medicare certified. We also have an Assisted Living floor and Memory Care Unit as well. Our Skilled Nursing team is both large and diverse: RCMs, MDS coordinators, RNs, LVNs, CNAs, a social worker, medical records tech, and a staffing coordinator. This is a fantastic opportunity for both new grads and experienced clinicians alike.


    We currently have an opening for a Director of Staff Development for our Health Center 


    This position is full time exempt, requiring a minimum average of forty (40) hours per week.  Work hours shall remain flexible to meet the needs of the facility, its staff and operations.

    The Director of Staff Development reports to the Director of Nursing at The Meadows and is responsible for the clinical education of the state of the facility.  The DSD is responsible for development, implementation and presentation of educational programs.  The DSD is responsible for orientation and training of nursing staff and participates in orientation of ancillary staff as appropriate.  The DSD is responsible for Infection Control program of the facility.  The DSD assists with staffing, follow-up on audits, chart reviews and QA program to insure the highest quality of care is given.


    • Have current California RN/LVN Nursing license.  Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.  Ability to apply basic principle of nursing care based on standards of nursing practice.  Ability to assess and implement interventions for resident care based on standards of nursing practice and principles of nursing care. 
    • Minimum one year experience in long term care which includes direct care of the aged or chronically ill. 
    • Must have Director of Staff Development certificate.
    • Demonstrate supervisory management, leadership skills and employee relations.
    • Familiarity with Title 22 regulations.
