    In coordination with the Board of Directors, Rogue Valley Manor Foundation, RVM Executive Director and residents, serves as the Foundation’s managing director. This exempt position is full time, requiring a minimum average of forty (40) hours per week.  Work hours shall remain flexible to meet the needs of the facility, its staff operations and community involvement.

    Responsibilities

    SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Annually, works with the Foundation Board of Directors to set goals and objectives designed to fulfill the Foundation’s Mission. 
    • Plans, operationalizes, manages and communicates to Foundation stakeholders an ongoing development program that meets the goals and objectives set with the Board.
    • Coordinates activities in the development of an ongoing support program by developing public/private sources of funding.  Includes gift cultivation activities, grants, endowments, trusts, planned giving programs, special events, and other sources of non- tax supported revenues.
    • Forecasts all areas of development and funding. Monitors, reports and accounts for income and disbursements.
    • Annually, works with the Foundation Board of Directors and PRS Accounting to prepare the Foundation Operating Budget and present it to the RVM Board of Directors for approval. Once approved, implements and manages the Foundation Operating Budget.
    • Generates and promotes quality programs through needs identification that are best suited to meet the genuine needs of residents, and when necessary, serves as the Manor representative on follow-up of resident suggestions and complaints in regards to a viable development program.
    •  Serves on the RVM Management team for general foundation operations and the administration of rules, regulations, and campus policies that are common to all RVM Employees.
    • Must be able to perform all necessary and proper tasks required to foster positive relationships.
    • Actively expands technical and general knowledge of development by way of conferences, seminars, workshops, college courses, and other developmental opportunities.
    • Employees and agents shall respect and protect the confidentiality of resident and employee records and other personal information.
    • Job role requires effective interaction with staff, residents, families, and community volunteers.
    • May have supervision over one or more administrative assistants.
    • Other duties as assigned.

     

    Qualifications

    Knowledge:

    Director must have a working knowledge of non-profit organizations and have practical understanding of fundraising, planned giving, estate planning, income and estate taxes and foundation management. A minimum of four years of college with a BA or BS degree required.

    Director must have a valid Oregon driver’s license and be insurable under corporate insurance carrier. Strong people skills are required, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills. Technical skills needed include computer literacy and working knowledge of data base programs. Director must possess strong management skills, including budgeting and financial management and the ability to direct, supervise and evaluate Foundation staff as well as the ability to organize and lead volunteers. An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the above areas of responsibility may be substituted for the education and experience requirements.

     

    Independent Judgement:

    Director must be able to use good judgement in assisting with duties as determined necessary to the on‑going success and operation of the Foundation and departments he/she serves. Must be able to work independently and have the initiative to undertake tasks needing to be done without being directed to do so.
