    Looking for a great place to work? University Retirement Community is seeking an On-Call Nutritional Services Aide I. This position will be in charge of ensuring the accurate, safe and timely service of regular and therapeutic diets to residents in Assisted Living, Memory Care and the Skilled Health Care Center.  As well as maintain food safety and a sanitary work environment.

     

    University Retirement Community is a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) located in Davis, California. Residents enjoy comfortable, carefree lifestyles in private, pet-friendly apartment or cottage homes, where they have the security of knowing a comprehensive continuum of care is available on campus, should their health care needs change.

     

    Hours/Days: (On-Call): Any day of the week, inluding weekends, 11-8 p.m.

    Responsibilities

    • Prepare and assemble cold food items breakfast, lunch and dinner tray line.
    • Ensure tray accuracy.
    • Record temperatures at end of meal period on daily cook’s menu.
    • Work with Activities staff food calendar to help facilitate schedule.
    • Highlight and prepare tray tickets prior to breakfast, lunch and dinner daily.
    • Refer to cook’s spreadsheet daily to accurately portion salads and desserts for all diet orders at lunch and dinner meals.
    • Deliver and pick-up tray carts at breakfast, lunch and dinner. Unload carts,
    • stack and pre-scrape plates and sanitize empty carts for next meal.
    • Record temperatures and sanitizer concentration of dish machine each meal.
    • Maintain resident diet data such as current sides, drinks, and the Cook’s tally sheets on a weekly basis according to SHHC census and resident preference changes.
    • Prepare and deliver snacks to SHHC per monthly activities calendar.
    • Set tables for lunch in Assisted Living dining room.
    • Record temperatures of all assigned refrigerators and freezers twice daily. 
    • Routinely clean out all assigned refrigerators and freezers of outdated items.
    • Maintain a neat and sanitary work area- both in main kitchen and in Nutrition Aide prep area.
    • Check for new diet orders, discharges, and any new admits for the Skilled Health Care Center and Memory Care. Create tray cards as needed.
    • Utilize a cell phone throughout the day for communication between SHHC/Dietary Manager and Kitchen/Nutrition Aides.
    • Must attend any scheduled meetings and/or training sessions throughout the year
