Overview

Pacific Retirement Services (PRS), is currently looking for a full-time Medical Billing Specialist to join our Accounting team. This a completely remote position that will require frequent collaboration via zoom/phone with our billing team, all of whom work remotely. Travel for this position is not common though it may be necessary for training purposes. You will report directly to our billing and collections assistant manger and work with 4 other team members to process both Medicare and HMO claims from our Health Services teams across the country.

We have over 100 employees providing shared services from our central office located in Medford, Oregon. Those services include accounting, sales, marketing, IT, and human resources. In total we have 12 different continuing care retirement communities 6 different states. Each communities provides health services ranging from skilled nursing, memory care, assisted living, to home care.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for processing monthly resident statements.
  • Process medical/insurance claims for our healthcare units at each of the communities. 
  • Handle sensitive billing issues with resident population or authorized representative of resident, insurance providers and medical care providers.
  • Processing of all charges in relation to resident billing which may include, therapy, lab, x-ray, pharmacy, dining, maintenance connection, and all other misc charges incurred by the resident.
  • Monitor and collection of AR aging.
  • Cash posting.
  • Insurance follow-up.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 1 year experience in medical claims billing.
  • Must have prior experience in a professional office setting.
  • Must be proficient in common office software programs such as MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Must have a general understanding of HIPPA, Insurances and/or billing background. 
  • Must pass a Medicare background check.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
