Holladay Park Plaza, a part of Pacific Retirement Services, is a beautiful not-for-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC). Located right in the heart of the Lloyd District, our residents enjoy a beautiful homelike atmosphere and have the finest amenities available within their own community. Our Dining Services department is the number reason our residents choose to live here. We have a bistro as well as a main dining room both with a la'carte services and a menu that changes weekly. All of our menu items are made from a scratch kitchen with the customer experience in mind. We also offer a variety of catering services through the community. What you’ll be doing:

At the direction of the Dining Room Supervisor, Assistant Dining Room Manager and/or Dining Room Manager, you will delegate specific duties to other staff members to ensure that all items needed for meals or events are prepared at the time needed.  In the absence of other Dining Services leadership, you will assume responsibility of your assigned dining room, including leadership to the server staff, food safety/sanitation, and resident dining experience.


You will adhere to and help ensure adherence to all established Dining Services policies and procedures.

How you’ll do it: 

  • Support the front-of-house leadership team in continually developing and mentoring the server team in accordance with their job descriptions, your sense of ownership, striving for excellence, and the expectations of the leadership team.
  • Demonstrate PRS Core Values throughout your daily routine—excellence, innovation, integrity, stewardship, compassion, and collaboration in fulfilling job duties.
  • Work one-on-one with existing staff to ensure all front-of-house standards are followed.
  • Train all newly hired and transitioned front-of-house staff in accordance with a consistent and effective training process/program.
  • Keep the Dining Room Supervisor, Assistant Dining Room Manager and/or Dining Room Manager informed of any potential problems as they surface so they can be addressed in a timely manner.
  • Resolve basic resident and staff concerns by acting as primary level of mediation, escalating issues to supervisors as necessary.
  • Conduct daily pre-service huddles for all assigned meal periods, to include training and motivational/positive talking points as needed.
  • Lead by example with regard to food safety and sanitation, maintaining an environment and work area that demonstrates safety and sanitation are paramount.
  • Attend all team meetings and/or events requiring your presence.
  • Be knowledgeable of emergency procedures and act in a calm manner in an emergency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


  • Must have or obtain a Food Handlers Card & state alcohol permit Permits
  • Requires the ability to understand oral and written instruction
  • Work involves simple repetitive duties clearly defined as standard procedure
  • Prior experience in the hospitality industry is preferred but not required
