Overview

Pacific Retirement Services is a high end retirement company specializing in non-profit CCRCs. We have a new opening for a Nurse Consultant to join our team to primarily support our CCRCs in Oregon. Our Nurse Consultants work directly with our Chief Healthcare Officer to coordinate and carry out activities to assist the Health Services departments at each of our campuses. Those departments include Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Home Care. Our ideal candidate is a tenured RN with an extensive background in SNF and AL.  This position is a remote opportunity. You must reside in one of the following states: Arizona, California, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington, or Wisconsin.

NOTE: This position requires significant travel. Qualified individuals can be based out of any one of our major market locations. 

Responsibilities

What you'll do:

  • Writes policies and procedures.
  • Understands how to create and implement effective and efficient clinical systems, which result in regulatory compliance and quality care for residents.
  • Conducts Mock Surveys and various audits.
  • Works to develop “Best Practices” to include, but not limited to, resident-directed care and practice.
  • Assists in new developments and openings to hire and train staff, order supplies, stock units and admit new residents.
  • Assists in obtaining licenses and certifications.
  • Reviews and responds to risk management situations, trends or events.
  • Attendance at Risk Management meetings.
  • Provides MDS-PPS training, guidance and consultation.
  • Reviews health center MDS Quality Indicator reports each month and provides necessary consultation.
  • Is proficient in the use of the Medical Records software and provides consultation and training.
  • Assists in training new Directors of Nursing and RCM/MDS nurses.

Qualifications

About you:

  • This position requires a significant advanced knowledge, usually the result of a minimum of four (4) years of college with a B.S. degree in nursing and/or experience in the field, including long-term care experience.
  • Requires a Registered Nurse (RN) license from an accredited nursing program, college or university.
  • Must possess a working knowledge of state and federal regulations regarding the operation of a health care facility, as well as OSHA regulations, Medicare regulations and Assisted Living regulations, Home Health and Home Care programs and MDS and PPS.
  • Must have a valid driver license and be insurable under corporate insurance carrier.
